Canton Canopy, the volunteer group working with the CCA to increase the trees in Canton, returns for the season on Saturday, April 24. Join them from 9:00 a.m. to noon to help plant new trees! They’ll have tools, gloves, coffee and donuts… all they need is you!

After a year of virtual learning, with many schools reopening classrooms, what does that look like for our kids? We reached out to local educators and asked them for an update. The Canton branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library at 1030 S. Ellwood Avenue opens to the public on Monday, March 8. The allowed capacity will be 25% with safety measures in place.

Mark Edelson, President, welcomed everyone to the meeting. He said the association tries to make things better in Canton and surrounding neighborhoods and to feel neighborly. We have an action-packed and full agenda tonight. Board elections are being held. Everyone who is a member can vote.

Have you noticed an increase in café lights strung throughout the neighborhood? Beautiful, right? Well, they’re not just there to be pretty, but to also supplement the streetlights to increase safety as part of an initiative launched by the CCA called “Get Lit Canton.”
