BGE Gas Meter Updates Are Underway
/BGE is replacing the communication devices on residential and business gas meters in our area. This project is part of BGE's 500G Module Gas Meter Upgrade Program, which allows continued safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers. In addition to keeping things safe and reliable, the new device also better ensures accurate gas billing and lowers the chance of communication problems.
BGE has contracted with Second Sight Systems to install the required 500G communications devices for gas meters across the BGE service area. Please call 410.936.3563 or 866.779.7404 (toll-free) to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
What you need to know:
The installation typically takes less than an hour to complete.
Second Sight Systems will contact you to confirm your appointment.
Your natural gas service will not be interrupted by the installation.
You will need to be at your home or business for the installation if your gas meter is located inside your property.
You will not need to be at your home or business for the installation if your gas meter is located outside your property.
All employees and contractors carry photo identification or business cards. Do not hesitate to ask for identification if you have any concerns.
