Halloween is brewing all around the community, with festive events and activities happening in Canton and throughout SE Bmore.

Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival
Join neighbors, friends, and family at Patterson Park on Saturday, October 24 for the 27th Annual Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Dia De Los Muertos Festival. The day begins with a family festival, featuring an adorable kids' costume contest, lantern making, pop-up performances, an arts & crafts market, and more. Once the sun sets, the magic begins. Everyone is welcome to grab a lantern and march with thousands of neighbors, artists, musicians, and performers or line the parade route to watch the delightful Great Halloween Lantern Parade wind through the night!! Festival 4:00 pm, Parade Line-up 6:30 pm, Parade 7:00 pm. Costume Contest: Registration for kids and families begins at 3:30 pm, Contest begins at 4:30 pm. 

BARCStoberfest
BARCStoberfest is an annual, large-scale, pet-friendly festival and fundraiser that benefits the lifesaving programs and animal care at BARCS. The festival, which takes place at Patterson Park on Saturday, October 24 from 10 am-3 pm, includes a 5K Run/1-Mile Walk, Pet Costume Contest, Barkin’ Beer Garden, vendors, kids’ activities, and more! Fundraising leading up to BARCStoberfest raises critical funding for Maryland’s highest volume, open-admission shelter serving 12,000 animals per year. The goal this year is $375,000, so please join us to raise funds for animals in need in our community. DETAILS & REGISTRATION

Canco Howl O' Ween
Canco is planning a Halloween Open Air Market and Pet Costume Contest for Sunday, November 1, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Stay tuned for details and follow Canco Baltimore for updates as plans come together. Trick O’ Treat on Highlandtown Main Street
October 31 from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Trick-or-treat in costume along Eastern Avenue with participating local businesses handing out treats. Stop by Filippo’s Restaurant, 418 S. Conkling St., for free professional photos, candy, music and $1 cheese pizza slices. Follow the trick-or-treat trails along Eastern Ave. from Robinson St. to Haven St., plus the 400 and 500 blocks of S. Conkling St. and S. Highland Ave., and look for participating businesses marked with a flyer. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visit Dreamers & Make-Believers Books, 400 S. Highland Ave., for the Halloween Comic Fest featuring free comics, vendors and more.
