Steak N’ Bone Celebrates One Year in Canton
Steak N’ Bone Korean BBQ, located at 2821 O'Donnell St., is officially celebrating its one-year anniversary! This neighborhood favorite serves up sizzling Korean BBQ and a fun, communal dining experience right in the heart of Canton. Calling Local Restaurants: Donate for CCA Public Meeting

Music on the Square
Music on the Square Concert Series returns for its 2025-2026 season! Join for an unforgettable evening with Ray Winder, one of Baltimore’s most exciting rising voices. A saxophonist, flutist, vocalist, and composer, Ray brings a genre-blending sound she lovingly calls “Dream Grudge”—an enticing mix of jazz, alternative R&B, rock, and her own unique soul. Thursday, October 2 from 7-9 pm. The concert starts at 7:30 pm - Doors at 7:00 pm. $25 suggested donation. Kids 12 and under get in free. COTS Blessing of the Animals 2025
Join us on Saturday, October 4 from 3-5 pm for a Blessing of the Animals. Bring your pups, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and parrots… or any pet to receive a blessing from Father Jim Hamilton and Rev. Amy Sens from Church on the Square, then hang out for a playdate with your neighborhood animal lovers. The event will be held at the Patterson Park Dog Park, 200 S. Linwood Ave. The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is celebrated worldwide annually to remember the life of St. Francis, the Catholic Church's patron saint of animals and the environment. 

Silent Movie Night  at Canton Waterfront Park
Rhythm & Reels is a community collaboration that brings fun movies and concerts to city parks for just $10! See Beetlejuice 2 on Saturday, October 18, from 7–10 pm. Bring a blanket and enjoy a night under the stars! Tickets include a free bag of popcorn and headphone rental. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Hosted by BCRP. DETAILS &  TICKETS.


Canton Ace Hardware Ladies’ Night
The 9th Annual Ladies' Night at Canton Ace Hardware on Tuesday, October 14  from 5-8 pm! Ladies' Night is designed to give Ace customers a hands-on introduction to home improvement while getting to know their neighbors. During the event, guests are invited to:

The Loading Dock Community Day
New homeowner? DIYer? Contractor? Artist? Come to the Loading Dock Building Reuse Store’s Community Day on October 25, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at 2 N. Kresson St.! Explore hands-on workshops, giveaways, and special sales on reclaimed building materials—all while supporting this non-profit neighbor.

The Canton Community Association (CCA) will have a booth, so stop by to say hello and learn more about local projects.

Event Highlights:

Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival
Join neighbors, friends, and family at Patterson Park on Saturday, October 25 for The 26th Annual Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Dia De Los Muertos Festival. The day begins with a family festival, featuring an adorable kids' costume contest, lantern making, pop-up performances, an arts & crafts market, and more. Once the sun sets, the magic begins. Everyone is welcome to grab a lantern and march with thousands of neighbors, artists, musicians, and performers or line the parade route to watch the delightful Great Halloween Lantern Parade wind through the night!! Festival 4:00 pm, Parade Line-up 6:30 pm, Parade 7:00 pm. Costume Contest: Registration for kids and families begins at 3:30 pm, Contest begins at 4:30 pm.

BARCStoberfest
BARCStoberfest is an annual, large-scale, pet-friendly festival and fundraiser that benefits the lifesaving programs and animal care at BARCS. The festival, which takes place at Patterson Park on October 25 from 10 am-3 pm, includes a 5K Run/1-Mile Walk, Pet Costume Contest, Barkin’ Beer Garden, vendors, kids’ activities, and more! Fundraising leading up to BARCStoberfest raises critical funding for Maryland’s highest volume, open-admission shelter serving 12,000 animals per year. The goal this year is $375,000, so please join us to raise funds for animals in need in our community. DETAILS & REGISTRATION

Two Rivers Park Clean Up
Please join us for a community cleanup at Two Rivers Park on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 9:30 am. We need a little help with weeding, trimming, mulching, and more. Bring gloves and tools or extras to share if you have them. The park is located on the 900 block between Curley and Potomac.

CCA Community Cleanup
We’re happy the CCA Parks Committee is hosting a community cleanup on Saturday, October 25. If you have an hour or two to volunteer, we’d love your help. Meet at Professor Trash Wheel at 9 am to walk and pick up trash. Or choose to start at O’Donnell Square Park to weed and clean up general debris. Some tools will be provided including grabbers, gloves, rakes, trash bags, and shovels. Let’s make this fun - costumes encouraged!

It’s also Mayor Scott’s Fall Cleanup Day of Service. To #GetNeighborly on your block, please keep your sidewalks and tree pits weeded. Also, watch for debris in the street and gutters so water can properly flow to the storm drains. Thanks!

Free Community Pitch-In / Dumpster Day
Saturday, November 1, 2025 • 9am-Noonish

The CCA is hosting a Community Pitch-In Day featuring a FREE community dumpster on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The dumpster will be located on Lakewood Ave just north of Boston St., alongside the Safeway from approximately 9:00 am until full. (Start time may vary as it’s contingent upon DPW’s schedule.) Plan to go early as it usually fills fast. All are invited to Dumpster Dive to divert waste from our landfill as well.

Hatton Senior Center
Baltimore is home to 13 senior centers which offer different programs and services for older adults. In Canton, the Hatton Senior Senior Center, located at 2825 Fait Ave., is open Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-3:30 pm. Neighbors 55+ can take part in fitness and wellness programs, dining services, and lifelong learning classes including Chair Yoga at 10:30 am on Tuesdays. Seniors 60+ are eligible for the “Eating Together Meal” Monday, Tuesday & Thursday at 11:30 am for $2. Advance registration is required. Cancer Screening Saves Lives
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder to schedule your mammogram! Screening tests are used before a person has any symptoms to help find cancer early, when it may be easier to treat. To learn more, including how to schedule a screening test and how to afford a screening without insurance, visit cancer.org/get-screened.

The Baltimore City Police Department asks neighbors to report crimes via this TIP email: SEDtips@baltimorepolice.org. Security camera footage and photos should be included.

SAVE THE DATE: Canton Day of Giving
Saturday, December 13 | 10 AM – 2 PM
Join the CCA and Exchange Club of Highlandtown-Canton for the annual Canton Day of Giving Food & Toy Drive! Bring new, unwrapped toys and nonperishable food to share with families in need. Enjoy live holiday music, hot chocolate, cookies, and a selfie with Santa! Toys will be distributed by the Baltimore Police Southeast District; donated food will go to Church on the Square.

CCA Buy-A-Brick Program On Hold
Thank you for supporting the CCA Commemorative Buy-a-Brick Program. Installations and new orders are paused as plans to upgrade O’Donnell Square Park move forward. Everyone who has recently purchased a brick was sent an email with details. For questions, email info@CantonCommunity.org.
