Project ODSP: A New Center for the Square
/The Canton Community Association (CCA) has launched Project ODSP, an exciting initiative to revitalize the center of O’Donnell Square Park—affectionately known as “The Square.” At the heart of this project is a vision to create a more welcoming, inclusive, and community-centered public space that supports fun, educational events while preserving the neighborhood’s unique vibe.
The redesigned park will feature a new multi-use, covered structure offering much-needed shade and shelter, allowing for more flexible, year-round use of the space. The project is being led by the CCA in partnership with local landscape architecture firm EnviroCollab, along with Parks and People, Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP), and Councilmember Mark Parker. Funding was awarded through a $100,000 Community Health & Safety Works Placemaking Grant from the State of Maryland.
To ensure this beloved public space reflects the needs and spirit of our community, we’re inviting neighbors to help guide this vision and shape the future of the park together.
A Community Input Night was held on June 10. The event was well-attended and featured visual concept boards presented by EnviroCollab outlining potential design directions for the new space.
If you couldn’t attend the event, you can still make your voice heard by completing the Project ODSP Online Community Survey, available now through Friday, July 11, 2025. The survey presents the same design concepts and prompts you to share your thoughts on layout, amenities, and future programming. Please select your preferred design concept and provide any additional feedback about the proposed designs or community programming within O'Donnell Square Park.
