Mayoral Award to Chris Broughton
/Congratulations to our neighbor Chris Broughton on receiving a Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Brandon M. Scott for leading the Get Lit Canton initiative.
Congratulations to our neighbor and former Canton Community Association Volunteer of the Year, Chris Broughton, on receiving a Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Brandon M. Scott for leading the Get Lit Canton initiative.
The certificate reads “On behalf of the citizens of Baltimore I am pleased to present this certificate to Christopher Broughton in recognition of your Get Lit Canton Project lighting up streets and alleys at night to deter would-be criminals. Thank you for spearheading this proactive, coordinated initiative with your neighbors. Tackling crime and grime in Baltimore is a team effort. When residents work together with city government, we see tangible results. As Mayor I commend you for working to beautify your neighborhood and keep your neighbors safe.” – Mayor Brandon M. Scott
While the project stemmed from the CCA, neighbors have loved the lights so much it quickly expanded beyond Canton. Chris has installed lights on over 35 blocks in several SE neighborhoods and Locust Point, too! He’s in such demand, there’s a waiting list to get on his install schedule. We’re excited to see our city “getting lit”!
Thank you, Chris, for adding to the beauty and safety of our community.
