The Eighth Annual HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Costume Competition!
Last Updated: 10/17/2007It's that time of year again! The Friends of Canton Dog Park are excited to once again host one of Baltimore's biggest pet events – the Eighth Annual Baltimore Dog Festival featuring the Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 27, 2007 starting at 11:00 a.m. at Patterson Park . (The contest starts at 12:30 p.m.; registration is from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
The Contest
This fun festival typically draws hundreds of spectators and approximately 100 dog contestants competing in four costume categories – Most Original, Most Baltimorean, Best Last Minute, and Matching Dog & Human. All proceeds from the event support the City's first and only official dog park – the Canton Dog Park. Registration is $15 per dog per category (or, for multiple dog entries: $15 for the first dog and $10 for each dog thereafter), and all funds raised go directly to the Canton Dog Park. All dogs must be on leashes during the entire event for everyone's safety!Sponsors
This year we are fortunate to have several fantastic sponsors on board to help us put on this great event - a special thanks goes out to our friends at Eastern Animal Hospital, Dogma, City Pet Center, CityPets, and Mix 106.5FM for providing considerable event promotion.Vendors
We will also have several dog-related vendors and organizations at the festival selling treats, toys, and anything else your four-legged friend might enjoy. Or, check out the rescue organizations and maybe you'll find a new pet! Booth space is still available for $40 for dog-related businesses (the fee is waived for nonprofit organizations). Please contact us for registration information. Please note: All vendors must be dog-related – this is a dog festival, after all! Some of your favorite Can Company businesses will be available with food and drink for dogs' human companions - so come one, come all!
