Recycling & Trash Schedule

The official trash and recycling schedule can be found on the Baltimore City Department of Public Works website:

All garbage will be picked up on TUESDAYS in all of Canton.  It should be in sturdy trash cans with tight fitting lids. It is against City Ordinance to not keep your garbage in a proper sealed trash can container. It should be put out before 7:00A.M. on Tuesday.

Don't put out your trash in advance of your designated pick-up day. It encourages rat and rodent infestation. Responsible citizens make for a clean and healthy Canton. If you  can't wait, then take it to an authorized disposal location. For more information, please check out the Baltimore City Department of Public Works website.

See below for locations and hours of sanitation yards and the landfill. Please note that the Western, Eastern, and Northwestern Sanitation Yards are now open on Saturdays.

Beginning in January 2008, Single Stream Recycling Started.  All recyclable materials -- bottles, cans, plastic # 1-7, mixed paper and cardboard -- should be set out in a single container.  Use the City's yellow recycling containers, or any other container clearly marked "Recycling." Place recycling containers in the same location as your trash before 7:00 A.M. on THURSDAYS for collection.  Plastic bags of any color will no longer be accepted.
